CLASS CANCELLATIONS

We try our very best to be weatherproof and train year-round through rain, snow, ice, and cold. However, the safety of our students and our coaches will always come first. Cancelling based upon the weather is an extremely difficult decision for our team, and we spend a large amount of time assessing and discussing what the right call is. The best, and really only, thing we can do is make a decision based on the information available to us from the weather service. In the event of dangerous weather conditions, classes and camps will be cancelled.

What is considered “dangerous weather”?

Severe thunderstorms or lightning warnings and flash flood warnings are immediate cancellations. We also consider any weather advisories that may affect public transportation such as heavy snowstorms or freezing rain to be dangerous for any students or coaches commuting to class or camp. Occasionally extreme freezing temperatures and heavy winds may also result in a class cancellation.

It seems safe for my child, why cancel?

We understand that last-minute cancellations can be frustrating to students and parents, especially if the weather doesn’t seem “that bad.” However, it’s important to note that many of our coaches are commuting from all over the city (The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens), so we’re also considering their safety when making these decision. If public transit shuts down, our coaches may be stranded far away from their homes.

Can I get a refund/credit for cancellation?

We are not able to offer refunds or credits for cancellations. In order to maintain our operating budget and pay our coaches a competitive rate year-round all sales are final.
